Palestine Cultural Festival is a vibrant celebration of Palestinian culture, heritage and identity, bringing the sights, sounds, flavours and spirit of Palestine to the heart of Melbourne at Fed Square.
Established in 2016 and formerly known as Palestine National Day, this year marks our 10th edition. Proudly community-led and volunteer-run, the festival brings together Palestinian artists, performers, musicians, businesses and community groups to celebrate our culture and share it with the wider Australian community.
For Palestinians, the festival is a chance to reconnect with home, heritage and each other. For one day, Fed Square feels a little like Palestine.
The smell of Palestinian food fills the air. Dabke brings people together. Palestinian music carries across the square, while tatreez, traditional dress, art and storytelling bring our history and traditions to life. You do not just watch Palestinian culture, you step into it.
For those experiencing Palestinian culture for the first time, the festival is a welcoming, family-friendly space to eat, dance, listen, learn and discover.
At its heart, Palestine Cultural Festival is about keeping our culture alive, passing it on to future generations, and sharing a piece of Palestine with Melbourne.
A piece of Palestine, brought to life in the heart of Melbourne.
