Dance • Taste • Wear • Gather

Don’t just watch. Join in.

Palestine Cultural Festival is made to be lived, not watched from the sidelines. Learn the steps of dabke, take a design home on your hands, taste dishes passed down through generations and stand together for the moments that matter most. Whether Palestine is your heritage or you are discovering it for the first time, there is a place for you in the circle.

You don’t need to be Palestinian to join us. Everyone is welcome. Come and let us introduce you to our culture.

Dabke for everyone

Learn the dance of celebration

Dabke is the line dance of Palestinian weddings, harvests and every celebration in between. Arms linked, feet stamping in time, the line grows as more people join. Our open dabke class on the main stage teaches the basic steps, and no experience is needed. Then watch the dabke troupes show you where those steps can lead.

Henna

A design to take home

Henna has marked Palestinian celebrations for generations, especially on the night before a wedding. Find the henna artists among the stalls and leave with a design of your own.

Traditional dress

Every pattern tells a story

The Palestinian thobe is more than clothing. Its colours and patterns once told you which town or village the wearer came from, and families still pass them down today. Our community fashion show brings traditional and contemporary dress together on the main stage.

Taste of home

Come hungry

For Palestinians, food is how you welcome someone. From warm, syrupy knafeh to street food fresh off the grill, food stalls and trucks serve flavours from across Palestine all evening.

Moments we share

Gather for what matters

The evening opens with a Welcome to Country, acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land we gather on. Soon after, the Palestinian flag is raised and the national anthem plays. For many in our community, it is the moment the whole festival is built around.

Plan your evening

Everything happens in one evening at Fed Square, from 4pm to 10pm, and entry is free.
